My creative journey began in the bustling fashion world of New York City, where I studied Fashion Design at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology). Those formative years laid the foundation for my couture bridal and evening wear business, Nannette of New York. For over two decades, I meticulously crafted gowns, turning dreams into reality for countless clients. However, as time passed, my artistic passions expanded, leading me into the realm of wearable art.
In the late 1990s, I attended the Houston Quilt Festival for the first time, wearing one of my signature Fauxchenille jackets. Little did I know, that moment would spark a transformative new chapter in my career. Inspired by the festival’s vibrant quilting community, I began exploring ways to innovate within this creative world.
This journey led me to design for McCall’s pattern company, author three books on my Fauxchenille technique, and ultimately develop a product that would redefine quilt finishing and textural embellishment: Chenille-It Blooming Bias.
Chenille-It is more than just a product—it’s a revolution for quilters. With a simple stitch down the center, you can add plush, vintage-inspired chenille texture to your quilt projects. The magic happens when you wash and dry your quilt, as the Chenille-It blooms to create a fluffy, soft finish. It’s available in two versatile widths—3/8 inch and 5/8 inch—and a rainbow of 25+ colors.

It’s been an incredible journey from the couture ateliers of New York to the quilted masterpieces of today. With Chenille-It Blooming Bias, my mission is to empower quilters to add texture and beauty to their creations effortlessly. I’m excited to see how you’ll use Chenille-It to transform your quilts and sewing projects into works of art!
